Odyssey Aviation Hangar and Ramp Expansion

Odyssey Aviation, the premier Fixed Based Operation (FBO) in the Bahamas, recently completed a new 25,000 square foot aircraft hangar at their Nassau location being constructed by BHM Construction Co. Limited and Island Industries (Bahamas) Limited, both firms have established themselves as quality construction companies for many years in the Bahamas.

The hangar features a 200′ clear-span x 28-foot high hangar door, allowing wide-open interior hangar space to accommodate their client’s aircraft. There is also 3,000 square feet of office space available to Odysseys’ hangar tenants. In addition, Odyssey has added three acres of 12-inch reinforced concrete aircraft parking apron. This

Odyssey’s CEO Steven K. Kelly said “Business is booming in the Bahamas and at all our Odyssey Aviation locations, also this trend is predicted to continue! The new hangar is already fully occupied with long-term tenants. Each office has its own entrance, is 100% private, with CCTV and extensive security measures in place throughout. With this extra space, there should certainly be plenty of space for what could be considered essential equipment such as industrial platforms and a ballymore lift. This large space should certainly have many advantages

We have always strived to ensure a quality customer experience and we are constantly focused on training, we want all our guests to feel safe, secure and leave the Bahamas with a positive experience” Odyssey Aviation’s new hangar and aircraft parking apron expansion is part of their ongoing commitment to providing the best in aviation services throughout the Bahamas. This will be Odyssey’s second hangar and increases the total hangar space to 50,000 square feet, both hangars will handle aircraft up to and including a Gulfstream G650.

The $5.75 million development brings the total occupied footprint to more than 26.5 acres, which is the largest footprint of any FBO at Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA). LPIA tops the list of the busiest airports in the Caribbean, 2018 being the busiest summer in the nations history. A combination of factors contributed to the increase in arrivals, the main factor being Odyssey Aviation / MYNN airport did not sustain any damage from the Hurricanes that unfortunately ravaged the rest of the Caribbean region last year.

Odyssey Aviation Nassau has the only fully private property on the field and handles the largest percentage of general aviation traffic.

The added space will create room to park 10 to 15 more aircraft which will significantly aid in the flow of traffic during peak season.
